Chan Ho Park had a good excuse for a bad Opening Day

Apr 13, 2010, 8:30 AM EDT

Chan Ho Park had a bad Opening Day last week but has since bounced back.  In the video below — which somehow stayed secret for a week — Chan Ho explains the problem.

Laugh all you want — and Mariano Rivera and friends seem to be doing plenty of that — but I prefer the honesty over “we just gotta play them one day at a time” garbage.

That’s something you don’t hear from ball players too often. Too funny. Well he’s having cheesesteak withdraw and those processed lips and a-hole dogs they feed them in NY just won’t do.

Tell it like it is, I always say. Kudos to Chan Ho Park for telling it like it is… aren’t we all human after all?

Who is at fault for CHP entering the game in the first place? It seems like a pretty significant breakdown in communication. I doubt Girardi would have put him in if he knew about the runs.

Remember last year when Rivera gave up that HR against TB after intentionally walking (Longoria?) someone? You find out the next day he had the flu and was throwing up all day. I often wonder if these guys tell the truth before something happens, or just try to “tough it out”.

Way to use those tags to make fun of a guy for trying to learn English. Classy.
