The $ 20M in options is “illusion” money, designed to create the illusion for free agents that Oakland is willing to pay you to play for the team. I doubt that Anderson will see the $ 20M payday. Beane will trade him for 3 more prospects, unless the A’s have a new stadium actually under construction by then.
