    Or, perhaps, he’s happy that he’s going to be paid nearly twice his 2009 market value until he’s 37, despite projecting for a total collapse before the contract is half over. That might make one happy as well.

    First, I’ll say I’m glad Ruben’s trying to keep the core together to maximize future World Series opportunities with minimal distractions like pesky free agency. Second—and I’ve said this before regarding a certain Yanker primadonna crybaby—nobody is worth $25 million dollars a year. Nobody.

    What human being is going to be happy about knowing he or she will be earning $125 million dollars over the next five years? He’d be happy to be anywhere.
