Jermaine Dye is unemployed for a reason

Apr 30, 2010, 11:21 AM EDT

Jermaine Dye headshot.jpgJoe Cowley wrote a story in the Sun-Times today about how the White Sox (or anyone) should give Jermaine Dye a contract. Quote of the article from Dye:

”I’m not going to a bad team, and I’m not playing for $1.5million,”
Dye said.

And people are suggesting that race has something to do with him being out of a job?  Man.

Dye seems like a nice guy who always played the game the right way. If he wants to stay home this season, more power to him.
I just hate on every player who loves money more than the game. His quote above obviously proves he does.
He’s made over $74 million in his career. What’s the difference between 1.5 and 5 (or whatever he thinks he deserves) million at this point?

    You tell ’em, Jermaine!
OOOOPS – look at the time! Gotta go, I dont want to be late for my $9.75 per hour job.

This is for Ron, Rusty, ringoftruth and anyone else bitching that less than 1.5 million is “low money.” You are all intensely stupid and illogical. Way to go for the obvious idiot remark. When your last contract was worth more than $6 million, and you’ve created generational wealth by earning $74 million and not spending it all like a knucklehead; 1.5 million is low money. If you don’t like that, tough crap. That’s the way it is, and if you were in his cleats that’s how you’d see it too.
Leeee – if you think that’s a good idea and people pay you for your ideas, well that’s just sad. You must live in a severely depressed idea market.
