The Yankees skip Javy Vazquez's next start

May 3, 2010, 5:15 PM EDT

Vazquez 2.jpgJavier Vazquez had yet another craptacular start on Saturday, giving up five runs on seven hits in three innings while walking four.  After that game Jor Girardi said that his next start — scheduled for this Friday at Fenway — was in question.  It’s no longer in question.  Girardi has bumped Vazquez off Friday’s start. He’ll go a week from today against the Tigers. Girardi’s comment after the decision: “We’re going to give him a couple days to catch
his breath.”

“Or to trade him to the Mets,” GIrardi did not add.

Others in the rotation have been getting an extra days rest for the most part. This wise decision will put Phil, CC and AJ on normal rest so no harm done this way. Plus, it’s the REDSOX for cryin’ out loud!
Captcha: win! homicidal- sounds a lot like most of my brethern

And who do the Mets have that the Yankees want? I will gladly give them GMJr, but somehow I can’t imagine Cashman going for that.

I will gladly give them GMJr
A bottle, slightly shorter aged, of Grand Marnier? Sure, the rabid NYY fans would accept that…though it would be a step up from their usual swill. I mean, GMJr has to mean the booze, ’cause obviously no respectable team would want…
