Die Hard Cardinals Fan is pretty awesome

May 13, 2010, 11:12 AM EDT

The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called
resignation is confirmed desperation. Other men paint their portly naked torsos proclaiming themselves “Die Hard Cardinals Fan.”

Best part: the words on his back are printed pretty clearly, which suggests that he has a wife or a girlfriend help him with this getup before every game.  So what I’m saying is that no matter how bad your social life is, you now have incontrovertible proof that, yes, there is someone out there for everyone.

Seems pretty typical of a Cards fan. Probably all knoweledgable or whatever and follows every game, but can’t get over this being the little brother to the Cubs thing.

LOL “Little brother to the Cubs.” Oh, mur-derrr!
If Die Hard Cardinals Fan is “typical,” then I guess these Brahs from Libertyville are pretty typical Cubs fans:

It’s true. Cardinals fans hate Chicago because they have a ‘little brother’ complex. Chicago is the big, Midwestern city that gets all the attention.
On the other hand, Cubs fans hate St. Louis because they always lose to them at baseball.

Sadly, that is an accurate depiction of the bleachers these days. Sigh. But it’s still fun up in the bleachers.
But you’re right, that dude isn’t a typical Cards fan. They tend to wear more clothes. But the hate the Cubs thing in all circumstances is consistent. And I like to visit St. Louis. It’s like a smaller, less-clean Chicago with less to do. And the zoo is free!

Wife or girlfriend? Boyfriend is not even considered? I would have expected more.
