Trevor Hoffman may return to closing

May 27, 2010, 10:12 AM EDT

Trevor Hoffman headshot.jpgTrevor Hoffman has had two good outings in a row, and as a result, Ken Macha appears to be leaning towards returning to his customary closer position, Adam McCalvy reports.

Said Ken Macha: “We kind of talked about that several times today. We’ll
see how some things go. That is two good outings in a row, so I’ll talk
to him [Thursday] and see how he’s feeling about himself.”

The Brewers play a day game this afternoon.  A couple of Hoffman’s monster ninth inning metldowns came in afternoon games.  I’m sure it makes no difference to him, but I don’t know if I can handle another afternoon of everyone in the Twitterverse and Blogosphere talking about that kind of tranwreck in real time, so I hope Macha holds off Hoffman’s return to the ninth inning until the weekend.
