Jonathan Papelbon goes on the bereavement list

Jun 7, 2010, 4:23 PM EDT

Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon has been placed on the bereavement list.  That means he’ll be out at least three days, though it could be longer.  No reason has been given for his absence yet, nor does anyone know for sure how long he’ll be out.

His wife gave birth in April. I’m not the praying type, but I really, really hope his wife/son are OK.

I care Uncle Jumpy and I’m also hoping his wife and children are ok. We love you Pap!
