Why teams hate scheduling makeup games

Because no one ever shows up to them. Check out the pic from the beginning of today’s Cubs-Pirates game in Pittsburgh:

I work at Target Field, and I was at the completion of the half-game against the Yankees. It seemed that people were pouring into the stadium constantly during those 4 innings, but when I looked at the upper deck (I couldn’t see the lower deck), it appeared that it was only 10% full. Though to be fair, the completion was played on a Wednesday afternoon. Pretty hard to fill up a ballpark when most of the fans are at school or work.

They should really just open up the doors to the stadium after the 3rd to anyone who wants to come. That way they can at least make some money on concessions or something. And ticket holders can’t feel too ripped off because they will have seen the first 1/3 of the game.

They might feel ripped off having to endure 9 innings while freeloaders would be subjected to fewer.

They might feel ripped off anyway, since it’s the Cubs and Pirates.

That’d be a mob scene at Joeprodolsharklife Stadium.
