"A "pedestrian" .288/.340/.412 by a rookie catcher brought up in midseason?"
I had the identical thought. It was good for 8th in the league, as a rookie. Even in Mauer's first season, he was only at .783, and he's already in the HOF.

The only problem he has is the owner of the team. As long as Angelos owns the O's they will be a door mat . For the good of the team , and baseball in general , Angelos needs to get out of baseball.

A "pedestrian" .288/.340/.412 by a rookie catcher brought up in midseason? Exactly what kind of expectations were the Orioles and their fans placing on the kid? Given the O's continuous struggles one would think that they would be thrilled to have a promising 24 year old to stabilize the position for many years. He'll never be Joe Mauer, but he sure aint no Lou Marson either.
