I probably should have read the NYT article before commenting but this is nothing new.
I took (psychology of) management courses back in the 80′s. One of the concepts classified people/ employees/ employers in four categories on the basis of self awareness vs. results.
I found the incompetent competent most frustrating because you usually have a complete idiot who through no conscious effort gets acceptable results. Certainly supports the chaos theory.

Love that NYT article- to apply that to the subject at hand, ol’Jerry has all his decisions as something to do with unknown unknowns and he is guided by Omar who also works in that sphere, so you have an unknown multiplier effect somewhere around the square root of the speed of light.
And here we were getting away with just calling them goofy.

The bizarre part about this is that Jim Leyland did the smart move of pulling Verlander after the delay, and the Mets commentators complimented the decision. They said that Verlander was too valuable to put back out there and risk injury!
Also, god only knows what the mound conditions were like, and Niese has had multiple leg injuries in his young career. Just a stupid, stupid move by Manuel.

Manuel is a moron. I don’t care what the team’s record is. The guy is INCOMPETENT. Unfortunately the team hasn’t sucked bad enough this year to get him canned. Elmer Fudd would be an upgrade. (It’s wabbit season, you know).
Bleh.
