The Tacoma Rainiers scratch tonight's starter. Is it a sign that the Lee deal is done?

Ed Price of AOL just noticed that the Tacoma Rainiers — the Mariners’ AAA team — have scratched their starting pitcher, Michael Pineda, from tonight’s game. Price wonders if that’s a suggestion that the Lee deal is done and that Pineda is going to come up to Seattle tonight to pitch against the Yankees.
Makes sense to me.

“Welcome to the bigs, Michael. You’ll be replacing Cliff Lee tonight vs. the Yankees. Good luck.”

This is really getting to heal-turn territory. Now I expect Lee to clothesline Don Wakamatsu and strut to the opposing dugout.

How many photos of Cliff Lee did you go through to find this mug shot? Don’t tell me you’re innocent, it insults my intelligence, it makes me very angry.

I don’t know – that is pretty much the same expression he had on his face when he faced the Yankees in the WS last year.

Forgot to add Pineda’s reaction: “Gulp”

Hey, this just in from MetsBlog: Joel Sherman says the deal is off now. One of the prospects has injury issues.
