Yeah, most no talent bums hang around for 14 seasons and collect 3 rings as a player, while catching a no-hitter and perfect game along the way. His managerial skills are alos suspect – what, with the 2006 NL Manager of the Year. Oh, and the 2009 world championship. So yeah, this well-respected player and manager is clearly a piece of crap. It’s also possible that Girardi figured his team was already ugly enough. Youklis always reminded me of a golem who didn’t know how to wear a tan. Thank Buddha that Varitek’s numbers matched his physiognomy this year, so he wasn’t a threat to go public. He makes Thurman Munson look like Cary Grant.

probably with the Red Sox hurt roster, the Sox would prefer Youkilis to not make the all star team to give him rest? or maybe Konerko was next on the players ballots (the normal way of deciding)
