C’mon give it a rest on the Girardi is sicking it to Boston theory.
1) For this year, Papelbon isn’t even the best reliever on his own team.
2) Bailey has two less saves, but half the ERA that Papelbon does.
3) Colby Lewis and Verlander are much more deserving and they were bypassed.
4) Girardi hates Papelbon…just kidding.

Give it up, it’s not a stick it to Boston thing.
1) Papelbon isn’t even the best reliever on his own team.
2) Bailey is more deserving. A few saves less, but a much more impressive ERA.
3) Verlander and Colby Lewis merit more consideration than Papelbon.
4) Girardi hates Papelbon…just kidding.
