I have been a Dodger fan since they made the move across the country in 1958. I am 63 years old and have seen many a young prospect spend their first three or four seasons with the Dodgers and when they finally got to the stage where they wanted to negotiate a big contract in order to stay, the Dodgers would deal them away. I guess the most noteable player was Mike Piazza. He was hitting the cover off the ball, hitting home runs and driving in runs. They dealt him to the Florida Marlins and he didn't even have a chance to unpack his bags when he was traded to the New York Mets. The rest is history!! The point of all this is, I am surprised that since Matt Kemp is having a "down" year that the Dodgers haven't put his name on the block. I sure hope he can stay with the team. He is among the four young guns such as Ethier, Loney, and Martin. It is just like when the Dodgers had Steve Sax, Steve Garvey, Ron Cey and Davy Lopes. They stayed together through their prime years and the Dodgers had some great teams because of it.
