"Cantu would serve as a backup to young first baseman Chris Davis in Texas" i'm not so sure about that statement, HBT. he would absolutely start vs. LHP (Davis a lefty bat who is shaky at best vs. lefty pitching), and he would probably get more than just the odd start against righties. if were to start off hot, he'd absolutely be in the lineup at least 5 of every 7 games. Ron "Accidental Cocaine Use" Washington has minimal faith in Crash and his AAA/Majors shuttle rides agree.

I wish the Rangers the best of luck in finding a handful of EYPs that will tempt Larry Beinfest. Cantu probably gives back with his glove half the RBIs he drives in. There must be some hot strange in the field boxes just to the right of first base that he keeps trying to impress because that's where so many of his pegs to first wind up. He's really not a third baseman. When he's hot, his bat can keep the Feesh right around the strange attractor (which is not the same kind of strange that hangs around the hotel lobbies, but never mind), but the Teal Titans would be much better off with a real third baseman at third. I'd like to get a chance to see Logan Morrison play on a day to day basis so I can get some idea of what he can do before he becomes arbitration eligible and Scrooge McLoria unloads him for yet another bevy of EYPs.
