HBT Daily: Strasburg, dueling trade bait and the Tigers' J.V. lineup

Our (mostly) daily look ahead to tonight's action

Tiffany and I are total pros. Watch this video and see if there’s any way to tell that 20 seconds before we started taping we were discussing the merits of White Castle hamburgers and whether Takeru Kobayashi is a prima donna.

Only stoners can do the White castle thing Craig. Just ask Harold and Kumar. I remember eating like 20 of those onion burgers, an onion fry, and an onion cola, in like 30 minutes after getting ummm, hungry, yeah hungry on Long beach island and driving like 10 miles to the only White castle i know of. I’ve long since given up on my youth and don’t plan on going back any time soon.

I seemed to detect a couple of half-fried stewed onions dripping on your chin.
Anyway, the Tigers are in a pickle. According to a fan base out there, money is available but a bidding war will be inevitable. And, there’s so many holes in the meat of their order that they’re down to cheesy recruits in Toledo.

The trade deadline drives me nuts btw. Imagine getting Myers back on a trade after you released him… Well it’s still going to be cheaper I guess in the long run….. Amaro couldn’t make a good move last season though. Ya know besides getting Roy H . Gload is looking like he’s earning his paycheck now and Valdez, as well as Snyder are performing a little better than expected. Valdez has a gun and can flip some sick leather. 4.5 games out isn’t too bad either. Pick up a starting pitcher who’s reasonable and go with it, forget Oswalt. Maybe if Pedro wasn’t so lazy this season things would be different…

Don’t forget Polly. He’s been a somewhat pleasant surprise.

Hell yeah, he’s twice as good as Feliz. people doubted he could play third. We all knew he can hit. Now he’s playing second when need be. A very good pick up. Ok in retrospect, the only place where Amaro screwed up was pitching, dumping Lee, Myers , Scott Eyre left, Chan Ho left, brought on a mistake in Baez….. Did i miss anything?

“Necessary” reseeding of the farm with composte (I’m being optimistic here), unless you’re lumping that in with dumping Lee, then it seems you hit on all his known gaffes from last year.
