Allow us to channel our inner ProBasketballTalk here for a second.  (By the way, check those guys out if you’re an NBA fan.  They kill it.)

According to the Associated Press, a fan wearing a spanking-new Miami Heat jersey of Lebron James was harassed by the fans at the Cleveland Indians’ Progressive Field on Wednesday night.

Indians fans (and Cavs fans, presumably) chanted obscenities at the man until he had to be led out by stadium security.  Some fans even followed him all the way to the exit gate.

The city of Cleveland is a little peeved at this man James, who abandoned his home town and a loyal fan base to “take his talents to South Beach” earlier this month in a one-hour special on ESPN called “The Decision.”  And they should be pissed off.  That was a ridiculous and horribly misguided show of classlessness.

Now about that fan wearing the jersey.  Was he just looking for attention or was he simply expressing his love for LeBron?  Did he deserve the chants?  Does anybody want to send me a new No. 6 Heat uni?

Hey Brian……You’re gay and Miami is a schit hole. Wow, the public school system in Cleveland is as good as ever. What a comeback….NOT. What are you 12?
Hey Bucknut….. shows how much you know. I’ve been a Heat fan since 1988. I even took a plane to Orlando to see the Heat in a playoff game. Yes, that was BEFORE we had Wade or Shaq. Talk about frontrunners. LeBron was man of the year before he left your sorry team. As far as Wade leaving. Yeah, I’d have been upset, but I wouldn’t burn his jersey and I wouldn’t boo him. Not saying there aren’t people here who would, but I can only speak for myself. Wade will always be a member of the Heat Family, no matter where he goes. I know for sure our owner wouldn’t put out a crybaby letter calling Wade a coward. That was just pathetic.
And tdawg….. you are right about the fans here, but I guess in Cleveland you can only go see Madonna in the Hall of Fame so many times. But lets see how many Cavs games sell out this year.
And as far as South Florida being a shithole….. remember that when you are shoveling your way out of your houses this winter.

    Wow. You’re immature.

Anyone remember when Lebron wore a Yankees cap to a home Indian/Yankees playoff game? Those that did remember shouldn’t have been surprised when he left Cleveland.
The “King” has left Cleveland to be the loyal court jester to the new King, Wade.

What a bunch of classless thugs. Regardless of your opinion of Lebron, a spectator has a right to show up wearing whatever the eff he wants to wear. This isn’t about Lebron or civic pride or any of that nonsense; it’s about free speech. It’s just another example of stupid drunk mob behavior. If Cleveland is ashamed of its sports identity, this incident didn’t help much.
