HBT's Position-by-position trade deadline overview

Jul 30, 2010, 11:31 AM EDT

For your trade deadline obsessing pleasure: links to breakdowns of all of the available -- or merely arguably available -- position player talent at the deadline.

In the event you’re a read-at-work-only HBT reader, you may have missed some of the great work our Matthew Pouliot has been doing breaking down the available — and possibly available — talent, position-by-position, at the deadline.  He still has the pitchers to go, but he’s got your position players covered like nobody’s business:

Check them out, and be sure to save the links someplace, because a great many of those guys are going to be available for waiver deadline deals through the month of August as well.

Do you guys still want the Jays to trade Bautista. His grand slam today increased his home run total to 31 and his RBI’s to 79. He has increased his BA to above .260. Remember when it was about .230? He also has 9 outfield assists. I would trade him for Morneau but not for Texiera.

The Twins are in the heat of a divisional race, only one game out of first, do you actually think Morneau would be traded for Bautista? He’s half the player Morneau is. Morneau is having an off year with home runs(18), but he’s batting .345 and is in the top 3 in other important stats as well. Bautista is half the player easily!!! Morneau and Mauer are the face of the Twins, they’re not going anywhere for several years!
