Attention: Juan Pierre hit a home run a few minutes ago

Aug 3, 2010, 3:04 PM EDT

The White Sox are playing the Tigers at Comiskey Comerica this afternoon. As the bulldog goes to press, it’s 12-1 Chisox. Kind of feels like the Tigers’ season is ending as we speak, doesn’t it?

Beyond that, the most interesting thing about this game is that Juan Pierre hit a solo home run in the 5th inning.  It was his first home run since September 2008. That’s 809 at bats.

So I guess what I’m saying is that you people freaking out about A-Rod not hitting his 600th could be on a much more doomed vigil than you currently are.

How soon before Billy Beane tries to trade for him, citing his power potential?

That’s nice, but Rafael Belliard went a decade. Top THAT anyone. Of course he only had 1869 at bats in that decade, but still, a decade.

This game is at Comerica Park. not Comiskey Park.

And what is with a new article on MSNBC every single day that revolves around A-rod not hitting #600 yet. I mean really, it’s kinda sickening.

I believe that A-Rod is trying not to hit 600, therefore annoying everyone with the coverage to the point that every person on the planet will be cheering for him to hit it to end the coverage, thus making it the first and last time in history A-rod is cheered.
