The owners are meeting in Minneapolis

Aug 11, 2010, 1:00 PM EDT

It’s time for the quarterly owners meetings. They’re up in Minneapolis today and tomorrow. On the agenda: approval of Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan as the new Ranger’s owners, as well as some discussion about the draft, replay and pace of games. I suppose they could also try to settle the Athletics-Giants territorial dispute, but hey, that’s only been simmering for a year and a half now, so no need to rush in all willy-nilly.

After the meetings are over, the billionaires and the mere multi-hundred-millionaires among them will presumably dine on panda steaks, light cigars with blood diamonds and then go on a hunt the deadliest prey of all . . . Man.

    Mmmm… panda steaks.

“Panda Steaks” I like it. Do you think there is an adult table and a kids table (you know, for the low revenue teams.)

@birdmancometh – there is a kids’ table for the low revenue clubs, but they just whine that the higher revenue clubs should pay for a nicer one as well as increase their allowance.

As a resident of the greater Twin Cities area, I will definitely be on the lookout for some old, fat and bald white dudes with rifles tonight. Don’t wanna end up on a wall somewhere. Especially Florida.

Never got the appeal of panda steaks. All those critters eat is bamboo. That can’t make for very good eating.

That’s very funny, but….it just kills me to imagine Nolan Ryan as one of…of…them.

I think the source of the panda steaks is actually Pablo Sandoval. Giants fans at this point would probably sell him off for parts, anyway.
