Must-click link: The 30 worst baseball cards of all time

Aug 13, 2010, 3:24 PM EDT

This great link comes via Jimmy Kimmel’s Twitter feed, but it’s so good that it’d be worth posting even if it came from, say, Jay Leno’s Twitter feed*:
The 30 Worst Baseball Cards of All Time
This is one of those instances when “worst” and “best” are basically interchangeable, but my favorite is definitely Wally Moon and his unibrow. You can’t go wrong with any of them, though.
* Sorry, NBC overlords.

I may just start using that Bip Roberts card as my icon/avatar/profile picture for everydamnthing. How can you wear THAT sombrero and be THAT angry?

Apparently John C. Reilly used to play baseball under the pseudonym Warren Brusstar.

    Holy Shizz Balls

I take exception to the Mad Hungarian being here. That is a perfect representation of him.
What is up with that giant glove?

Party pooper who gets bugged by completely lame link pimping: Hrm, a few unusual & funny cards among a group of 30 cards, and no text at all. In several cases the cards appear to have made this ‘worst cards of all time’ list simply because the poster had a working image link to the card.
Perhaps this is a must-click link only for those who have never seen an actual baseball card before, or those who have never read the Cardboard Gods blog?

Lots of big 70’s glasses there.
The John Pacella one is awesome! Dude’s hat came off on EVERY pitch. Showing it on his baseball card was a stroke of genius. That one definitely does not belong on a “Worst Cards” list.

I didn’t know Sosa was in a boy-band? Someone alert ‘The Common Man’.

Also……Is it just a random selection, or is there a reason most of them are pitchers? You don’t even have to look at the name, or details to know the guys a pitcher. Fantastic. Craig Kusick looks like some sort of mailbox bomber.

What the hell is wrong with the Glenn Hubbard card? I go python hunting in the Everglades myself from time to time.
No, but I really do get it. Hubbard has a boa constrictor over his right shoulder and a reticulated python over his left. Back then was a pretty risky time to be so candid about your bisexuality, wasn’t it?

Tom Henke Hill sells propane and propane accessories.

Also Mike Armstrong is mad because kitties aren’t supposed to smell like cigarettes, they’re supposed to smell like kitties!

    Full of awesomeness.
Lee Tunnell looks like he could have played the young Howard Stern in “Private Parts.”
The best photo is Keith Comstock. “It hit right in the groin! This contest is over! Give that man the $10,000.”
Sad fact: Rex Hudler didn’t pose for that photo. He was just on a ready bad amphetamine bender.
How many of these cards do you think you own? I am certain that I have at least four of them.
