It’s called an “incentive-laden contract”. Start with $10 million, just so he can’t play for anyone else. Then give him something like $5K for every HR over 20, and every RBI over 80. Throw in $10K for each plate appearance over 600, and $7500 for every BA point over 300. $10K each for assists from the outfield, $15K for each stolen baqse, and I’m gonna guess that, if he stays healthy, you’re looking at writing him about a $30 million check in October, unless you want to throw in a little spiff for awards and post season advancement, not to mention All-Star balloting. It may sound ridiculous, but based on who’s getting what around the league, it sounds about fair to me…
