Kevin Youkilis still hopes to play in the playoffs

Aug 17, 2010, 5:01 PM EDT

That’s what he was telling people in the Sox’ clubhouse a few minutes ago.

Only two things wrong with that of course: (1) the doctors haven’t said that he could (and have previously said it’s extremely likely that he couldn’t); and (2) the Red Sox right now have a hell of a lot of work to do if they have any hope of making the playoffs. And that work is much harder without a guy like Kevin Youkilis around.

Other than that, sure, why not man?

In just which year does he think that he will play in the playoffs? The answer might just be NEVERMORE!

Are the Red Sox going to trade him to a contender?

What doesn’t he understand about the Red Sox not making the playoffs ? The Yankees will be lucky to win the AL east . Neither New York nor Rays show any sign of letting down , so that means the Sox will be the odd team ouy .

Good grief, Craig, that same mug shot again? Don’t you have maybe a rear view of him you can use next time?
