Video: Jose Canseco hits a homer

Aug 18, 2010, 12:03 PM EDT

Or, as one of my co-workers put it: "The Shot Heard 'Round the Greater Laredo Area"

The stance and swing actually makes you think Canseco could still hit if given the chance. The trot, however, makes you realize that the guy probably qualifies for special parking and pre-boarding privileges.

Jose Canseco is the biggest tool around. If he weren’t such an a-hole, he could actually be an ambassador for the game of baseball in their fight against steroid use in today’s children. But since he is such a prick, and nobody can stand him, he is just a carnival attraction and nothing more.

This is a reply to Chris Fiorentino’s comment above. Chris, Jose Canseco is a great person! If you took 30 minutes out of your time to do a little research before you commented you would realize that. The media has brainwashed most of the Baseball fans out there and you are certainly one of them. He is and has been my hero since the 1980’s and he has NEVER let me down! Baseball blackballed Jose when he was in his prime, he could have easily hit 600+ Home Runs if not for that. Sure, he might’ve taken steroids but if you read his first book “Juiced” you would understand why. To come back to a minor league team in your late 40’s and hit a Home Run at your first at bat, wow… he is Baseball.

Chris Fiorentino -You’re an asshole. Jose is the man!

I like how he’s the only one with his name on his shirt. Cause, you know, every day he’ll probably be mistaken for a 19 year old prospect.

God I hope this was sarcasm…

Sorry, Keith. Gotta go with Chris on this one. Jose Canseco is one of the biggest tools that ever laced up a pair of cleats, with apologies to Ty Cobb. He had everything a young ballplayer could want, and pissed it all away with his ego-centric approach to the world. Lived like he was making A-Rod money before A-Rod got drafted. Then did roids so he could GET A-Rod money, before the hole he was digging for himself caved in. Then ratted out his friends and teammates cause he still needed money after making 10’s of millions playing. Guess he blew the book money, too, cause now he’s playing ball again, for a couple of grand a month (after being evicted from his apartment). Yeah, this is a great guy. I want my son to be just like him.*
*The last two sentences WERE meant to be sarcastic, just in case Keith missed that…
