It’s sad to see Lou Piniella go, and it’s tough to see a young ace like Stephen Strasburg dealing with an arm injury.  But it’s not all bad news this Sunday.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com passes along word that legendary Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully has opted to return for the 2011 season.  Scully, 82, has been working on one-year contracts for the past several years and will do the same this time around.

The announcement was made before Sunday afternoon’s game against the Reds.

None better!! Just wish they were not playing the reds then I would not get blacked out. They should change the rules to be able to listen to legend!1

I’m not in LA, I’m not a Dodgers fan, and I don’t get the MLB network or anything like it. I almost never get to hear Scully work anymore. Yet somehow I’m cheered by this news, perhaps because it makes Dodger and Scully fans so happy. The ultimate professional.

This fantastic news – he still does a fantastic job and is the only reason I watch MLB.tv Dodger home games.
