My endocrinologist frequently refers to child-onset or hereditary diabetes as “type A,” even though he usually refers to adult-onset diabetes related to overweight as “type 2.” It’s a slip but from what I can tell it’s not an uncommon one.

Sheesh, a nitpicker. Excuse me for typo-ing an A instead of a 1.
B-12 is a vitamin. Vitamins are not classified as medication by the FDA.

B-12 is not a medication.
What about Type A diabetics? Are they not allowed to inject their own insulin? That’s closer to a medication than B-12.
