Triple Crown Villains and Omar Infante: insane person

Sep 1, 2010, 11:28 AM EDT

Jon Bois is one of the funniest mofos on the planet, and if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like The Dugout well, you and I just can’t be friends.

Today he has a piece about the top 10 all-time triple crown villains (i.e. those interlopers who have taken a batting, home run or RBI title away from someone who people would have liked to see with the triple crown).

There’s lots to love there, but the gold of the piece is the Omar Infante entry. I honestly believe that he has made the phone calls to Bud Selig and Joey Votto that Bois transcribes there, and it makes me love Infante even more.

Infante is 7 for 29 since he was batting .350 and we were all told that he was going to have enough at bats to screw up the Triple Crown race. Won’t happen. I’m betting he barely stays above .300 by October.

And now… I will pollute your drinking water, for I am… Omar IN FAN TE! AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHHAHA

Couldn’t he almost compare Votto to Howard with how he says Howard didn’t wait his turn? Pujols has put in his time. Votto hasn’t. Just being a smartass though.

    They still make The Dugout?
Man, that hasn’t been the same since they left for AOL. Or when Nick D left.
Good to see Jon B still trucking on that though.

He’d have to go 0-48 to get down to .300, or only have 13 hits if we’re to assume he gets 90 more at bats over the course of the season. Yeah, that’s a logical assumption.
Of course, expecting logic from a Philly fan who thinks the Braves’ lead is just a product of luck and injuries is fairly illogical in and of itself.

If Howard won the HR and RBI crown, wasn’t it Pujols that thwarted him and not the other way around?
