Nyjer Morgan's appeal pushed back; Pat Listach suspended

Sep 3, 2010, 12:30 PM EDT

Nyjer Morgan was supposed to have the appeal to his last suspension heard on Tuesday.  Bill Ladson is reporting that that Major League Baseball has bumped it back to next Friday, however. I guess the giant paddle with which they plan to spank him isn’t back from the woodworking shop yet.

In other news, Morgan’s valet and manager, Mr. Fuji, er, I mean Nats’ third base coach Pat Listach was suspended three games today for doing the uncoachmanslike thing of jumping on Chris Volstad during the fight.  Of course, Ladson characterizes his role as “going into the pile trying to protect Morgan.”

You say “tomato,” I say “the Nats’ talking points, devised in a vain attempt to keep Listach from getting suspended.”

Right…better way of protecting Morgan? Grab him and throw him out of the pile.

But he looks like such a happy go lucky guy in that picture, how could you suspend him?

This guy seems like a good candidate for the Milton Bradley school of anger management . MLB ought to reel him in asap , because he will only get worse .
