Report: Josh Johnson "may be done for the season"

Sep 8, 2010, 5:42 PM EST

Initially said to be “50-50″ for his scheduled Friday start, Josh Johnson is now having his injured back and shoulder examined by doctors in Florida and Joe Frisaro of MLB.com writes that the Marlins’ ace “may be done for the season.”
Or as manager Edwin Rodriguez put it: “We have to make sure that J.J. is OK, not only for the time being, but we have to make sure that his career is not in jeopardy.”
According to Frisaro the earliest Johnson would be cleared to start again is next Wednesday, and that’s assuming the tests clear him of anything serious.
