The Cubs are interested, but only if he signs a long term contract for big money with a no-trade clause. The Mets aren’t interested because he doesn’t have a history of injuries and time on the DL.

Not gonna lie, I’d be a-okay with Morgan plying his trade in Minnesota next year.
Dude showed last year he’s got legit skills, he’s having a down year and one bad week full of stupid decisions has turned him into a public enemy number one.
If nothing else, it’d be nice to have his defense spell Delmon Young late in games.

Considering that Morgan and Riggleman have been trading barbs themselves this week, I think Riggleman was looking at the calendar and trying to cast a little balm on the waters so he could get through September with his sanity intact – and, also, mindful of all the criticism (justly) piling on Morgan, probably trying to be Uncle Manager and cover a guy who, for better or (mostly) worse is, after all, one of his players.
