Very true, but you’d probably get some broken fingers from headfirst slides, necessitating even more utility guys with hustle which would mean more brok…..

I’ve always wondered why more contending teams don’t make post deadline trades like this. Grabbing a few guys from teams wanting salary relief lets you spell your starters more down the stretch. Who cares if you can use them in the playoffs, would the Reds rather Bloomquist in the playoffs, or a fresh Brandon Phillips? And if there is an injury it opens the door.

Why the dig? I know this will shock you, but Bloomquist does not fit into the Royals’ future plans. Moore was trying to unload him at the deadline.
