Really, what they should do is move home plate up a couple of feet. Citi Field has the shortest distance between home and the backstop and very little foul territory down the lines. Not that the size of Citi Field has anything to do with their record the last couple of years. But it does get kind of frustrating watching so many fly balls die in left field.

I wonder if David Wright may have a conversation with the new GM regarding the changes. Hey Mets ownership the new GM that you are seeking maybe posting here, I call your attention to the post by birdmancometh at the top of the page, he already seems smarter than your present GM and that is only his first idea.

Hey man, they built it for small ball, play small ball. And don’t do a thing with Utley’s corner, he won’t like that. I think he only put one there this season, what a shame….

Moving fences or not won’t change the fact that they’re simply not as good as the majority of teams they play against.
