Jimmy Rollins is in the lineup for first time since September 8

Sep 28, 2010, 4:48 PM EDT

Jimmy Rollins was initially expected to rejoin the Phillies’ lineup yesterday before manager Charlie Manuel squashed those plans because of a wet field, but he’s leading off and playing shortstop tonight in his first start since September 8.
Rollins has sat out the past three weeks with a hamstring injury, but the Phillies went 13-3 in his absence to secure both the National League East title and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
However, overall this season the Phillies are 51-30 (.630) when Rollins starts, compared to 43-33 (.567) when he’s not in the lineup. And even in arguably the worst season of his career Rollins is still a big upgrade over fill-ins Wilson Valdez and Juan Castro.
