Bobby V. is out of the running for the Mariners’ job

Larry Stone of the Seattle Times is reporting that the Mariners have told Bobby Valentine that he’s out of the running for the Mariners’ job.

This is sad. I figured we wouldn’t hit “Peak Valentine” (i.e. the point in time when the maximum rate of global Bobby Valentine managerial rumors are reached, after which the rate of production of Bobby Valentine rumors enter terminal decline) until at least December.  Huh.

No word on who may actually get the job at this point.  The M’s have spoken with Eric Wedge and Lloyd McClendon among others.  Whoever gets the job has got a lot of work ahead of ‘em.

Craig, take solace in the fact that he’s been getting and not attached to the Feesh several (thousand?) times so far.

You’ve been saying that for the last three years…or possibly your entire life.

I hate the Braves. This is why I have recently infused Frenchie with the ability of a baseball player. And a sense of humor. I can hear that tomahawk chop all the way up here. Keep it up…. I’m thinking of making Escobar ALL STAR material for 2011.

You just infused him with a manager that’s actually looked at his splits.

I think it would be screechingly funny if after all this, he winds up being skunked by every team that interviews him.
