Ozzie Guillen to work as World Series analyst on FOX

Oct 25, 2010, 1:45 PM EDT

For the second straight season FOX has hired Ozzie Guillen as a World Series analyst.

According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune the White Sox manager “will work the pregame and postgame shows with Chris Rose and Eric Karros” and also “join Joe Buck and Tim McCarver as an analyst for late-inning strategy.”

I’m a huge Guillen fan and anything that leads to McCarver doing less of the analysis can’t be a bad thing, but my guess is that Ozzie joining Buck and McCarver “for late-inning strategy” talk is something that sounds a lot better in theory than in practice.

And why not? His syntactical incoherence is a perfect match for the logical incoherence of most Faux pundits. The ratings of the Trailer Park Network ought to go through the roof for the next ten days or so.

If fox is smart they’ll not only have sub titles , but they should get a translator in the booth also . Believe me no matter which team they put him with they won’t understand him either. Also they should have at least a few second delay to appease the censors. This decision to have Ozzie on will most likely make history. The smartest thing he could have done for himself was to have gone back to Venezuela after the season ended.

You forgot to note that hopefully that means less of Chris Rose. Honestly, what a pile. Bring back the glory days of Bob Costas and Bob Uecker.

I hopeful that Cablevision and FOX can not reach an agreement for the next two weeks…

So Ozzie Guillen will “help” on pre-game and post-game on Fox? Then we get McCarver for the game on TV. Then on ESPN radio coverage we probably get Joe Morgan? This may have to be the year to watch with the sound off.

Maybe they really are trying to kill baseball.

Schmuck, McCarebear and Guillen in the booth? That’s like a closed-captioning trifecta.
