That makes too much sense , Papi will never go for it , but if the old take it or leave were involved , it just might work . We’ll find out just how much Papi loves the Sox .

If I were Theo, I’d see how he feels about 2 years $10 million. Gives Papi the length he’s passionate about, and he’d be at the price he’s worth.

Frankly, I think 12 mil is a lot for Ortiz. The Rs might be able to sign Matsui for half that. But, a lot will have to do with what else is available. While I don’t think the RS want to spend that for a DH, .. they will likely be as determined as their options allow them to be.

I see Ortiz back with the RS, … but it will be interesting to see how the contract works itself out.

I wouldn’t make book on Theo having him back @ 12.5mil. Aged DH’S don’t make that kind of money . It is a distinct possibility he’ll be back , but he can forget a multi year deal , and the 12.5 mil. I would think he’ll have to restructure the money end .
