So if Lee pitched masterfully Vlad would have played right again tonight? That’s not sound reasoning to keep someone in the field, let alone a manager of a major league baseball team.

I love Vlad not in an Angels uni. I love him more in Rangers laundry. But I hate him playing in the field, and I hate it even worse when he does anything at all fancy on the basepaths. He used to be quite fast on the paths, but this season, I ve seen him thrown out at second trying to get there on a legit double several times, and his green light to steal needs to be permanently changed to red. I’m not at all sure he could beat Benji Molina in a footrace any more. He can still hit any kind of crap thrown his way, usually with some force, but he should have standing orders to run through first and never take the turn, unless his hit went over the fence. Once safely on first, it’s time for a pinch runner. Sad, really.

Bummer! But it looks the right decision. BTW Aaron, with Lee on the mound Washington probably figured Vlad wouldn’t get too many chances to screw up in the OF.
