I'm really glad that these blogs are so lively, because this has so far been one of the dullest World Series I can remember. Then again, I doubt if I'll remember this one very long because it's so dull. So, I wonder whether it's actually as dull or duller than the World Series I can't remember because they were so dull. Boy, dullness makes a historian's work so hard.

If you ever get a chance, you should check out Eric Nadel on the Rangers radio network. Knowledgeable to no end in every aspect of the game: current situations, rules, history, politics, etc. A pleasing yet authoritative voice. A poetic painter of the images before him (I swear if you close your eyes while listening to him call a game, you’ll see everything that you would if you were watching on TV). And one of the finalists for Ford Frick, which means I’m not alone in thinking that he’s that good.

Let’s also ignore the political influence used to get immanent domain and public funding to line the Bush pockets to build a new stadium for the Rangers. And let’s ignore W’s responsibility for the horrible economy, which has some how become Obama’s fault. Let’s cheer those father and son billionaires who would alert the staff immediately if you should so much as approach one of their clubs or gated compounds.

I like how Mccarver interrupted the ad for the sim baseball site by countering no to him catching Nolan Ryan against Willie Mays, and Buck having to explain it is what you do in sim baseball.

Just checked BB-Ref splits, of the 65 umpires this season with at least 500 innings called, Winters is 58th with a 4.57 ERA (though he also seems to call the highest strike-out rate???).
