Any idea who some of the runner-ups were? I checked the site and could only find the winners posted.

I’m particularly interested in RF, because even though Ichiro is amazing, every time I saw him this year it seemed like he had lost a step. And yes, my viewings equate to a very small sample size of his overall performance, but I’m still curious as to who else is considered in his class.

Obviously, I don’t watch Carl Crawford enough to say how good his defense is – I only know by reputation and metrics. But I do know that Gardner backs up his metrics, which have him tied with Crawford in +/-, a smidge behind in RZR, and a couple runs in front in UZR as a left fielder. Given that Gardner only played 75% of the innings in left that Crawford did (because he had to cover center, too), being tied/ahead of Crawford in both counting stats is even more impressive.

Molina…….. Awesome player. That Mrs. Molina had herself a super good litter of catchers. Wow. Imagine if Mrs. Molina had hooked up with Nolan Ryan, or some other Phenom from the past. the possibilities are endless.

Well, the outfield will often be different, because FB votes position-specific, while GG just gives it to three outfielders, and (rightfully) biases towards centerfielders. Definitely enjoyed seeing my boy Brett Gardner getting some love here, though.
