I love the fairweather fans. Fairweather fans pay the $23MM mortgage on our beautiful, privately funded stadium by the bay. Yes, they drive up the price of weekend tickets, and are probably part of the reason why I couldn’t get a world series ticket, but the Giants depend on the chardonnay-sipping, cell-phone-yapping field club denizens to put a competitive product on the field. More power to them.

It’s also understandable that people are rushing to buy team gear after they win because the stuff they have from before doesn’t say World Series Champions on it. If/when the Cubs win a World Series you can bet I’ll be in line somewhere the next day to buy a new shirt/hat.

I’m not being a sore loser. The Phightins offense and defense were nonexistent in the NLCS. The Dwarves beat them, but they beat themselves, also. That’s over. I’m waiting the three-plus damn months before pitchers and catchers.

That said, the whole idea of idiotic chatschke(sp?) like commemorative crystal baseballs are asinine.

And just because the unrest happened away from the tourist areas does NOT make it okay. No matter what city it’s in. There were a few fires and sporadic vandalism here in 2008, but nothing major—that STILL doesn’t legitimize it. There is no reason for that crap.

Utley’s a little bit of sore loser. I think. SF’s first win since the Giants have been here, damn right there’s a parade. It’s tomorrow, recreating the route the ’58 Giants took when they first came to town. Weather will be gorgeous: about 73 and sunny, low humidity, no clouds. Whether we win or lose, it’s still CA baby!

Got my Giants 50th anniversary hat with an ancient Croix de Candlestick pinned on it and my old SF Giants jersey hanging in the closet…and I plan on buying a lot of 2010 World Series gear soon, too! Big congrats to the San Francisco Big Guys!!!

Dude, we won a World Series for the first time since we have been in San Francisco! Excuse us if we want to commemorate the event with a shirt or hat.

How does wanting to proudly support your team’s victory make you a fairweather fan? Like skerney said, look at the attendance. We love our Giants, regardless of the weather (which you would know if you ever came to AT&T and sat in a 50 degree July night).

The Giants have drawn 3 million fans 9 out of the last 11 years. That includes this season when they only spent 37 days in first place. This is a baseball town.

Or, y’know, maybe they are actual fans re-energized by the World Series victory putting more money into the team? I know last year I was one of dozens of real Yankee fans on line at the Yankees store the day after the World Series victory trading up from well worn Yankees hats to World Series hats.

Not everyone is a bandwagon jumper, y’know.
