Remember the last time this guy got a big multi year contract ? he went into the tank on Seattle . I don’t blame the Sox for being hesitant with him .

I am sure that most Sox fans saw this coming after the year he had. He never really seemed all that enthused about playing for the Sox to begin with, I think he was just happy to get out of the Pacific Northwest.

Actually, according to WAR, he was worth his $13 million a year partly because he’s such an amazing fielder, and partly from taking into account how SafeCo killed his numbers. Drew has (similarly) been worth the money the Sox paid him.
