Seems to me that Hudson just didn't fit in with the Minnesota Nice clubhouse feel. Which, really, is a shame. I know it's an intangible, and therefore risks inanity, but the fact is that after T. Hunter's departure, the MN roster has really lacked a firestarter. Gardy can get ejected all he wants, but somebody from within that clubhouse needs to take on that role, and it's looking increasingly doubtful that it will ever come from Mauer or Morneau, as great as their on-the-field play is.

Finally a team gets it. Signing these declining over the hill players to multi year contracts and then bemoaning the fact they did only creates a problem on the team and for public relations as they try to justify high ticket prices and a team hamstrung with over priced fat and lazy i got my deal veterans.

I had really high hopes for O-Dawg in Minnesota. The defense rebounded nicely after recent regression, but the offense just didn't live up to .282/.348/.431 career line he had coming into the year. He played some awful baseball down the stretch and was hurt too often. I'd be all about bringing him back if he'd hit closer to his career norms and stayed healthy, but at 33 a long-term contract is a tough pill to swallow.
