Earlier today I ran that Marvin Miller quote in which he called Jim Palmer “an anti-union sonuvabitch.” Seems that neither I nor Mr. Miller reads the New York Times, because Palmer had this to say yesterday:
“My vote has been and will always be for Marvin. He gave the modern day player a voice, completely changed the landscape.”
Maybe Palmer still was an anti-union sonuvabitch. But he’s one that has and apparently still supports Miller’s Hall of Fame case. And rather than lash out about it, maybe Miller should just keep quiet.

And there’s nothing wrong with having union issues anyway. Luckily we don’t live in a fascist nation.

You said a mouthful there; unions wouldn’t even be allowed in a fascist country…

…right. With every union, comes the right to criticize them.

Jim Palmer remembers what you had for breakfast yesterday, his memory is that precise. So if he says he’s always been a Miller guy (presumably not the beer), then I’d be inclined to believe.

How old is Miller, 95? He probably doesn’t even remember who Jim Palmer is.

Don’t you get it? Miller DOES NOT WANT IN the HOF. Saying mean things about voters is his way of avoiding induction. Man, he’s good.
