Would you, or one of the HBT team members, consider doing an analysis of team strengths vs. FA’s available, farm system projections etc? It doesn’t need to be league wide, b/c that’s a pretty big effort, and besides, we all already know the main story about the Yankees (sign Lee), Red Sox (coin flip for Crawford/Werth) etc. I’d be more interested in ‘on the verge teams,’ meaning clubs that are a few moves away from perhaps tasting the playoffs and what they can do to get there. For personal reasons, I’d like to read more about the O’s (Uggla at 3B and Pena at 1B, importing desperately needed power from the sunshine state sounds nice while the young arms hopefully develop), but as well as teams that may not get as much MSM exposure. The Reds, Nats, Rockies, Blue Jays, whatever.
My rambling thoughts are as follows, it’s easy to understand what a player wants from free agency. Money, money, and perhaps some familial concerns. And money. But I like strategy. On the GMs side, what moves make sense in terms of the budget as well as not blocking a prospects development? Not every team can, or should, sign Jayson Werth. So what are the other moves to be made, viewed within the scope of that team’s needs and abilities?

If Uggla had agreed to the $48mm deal, they would have choked and fouled their diapers and the same time – rectal peristalsis requires no air pressure – but they obviously knew that he knew that they knew he could do better.

Same old story, Feesh fans. What did the relict dozen or so of you really expect?
