As Oddball observed, there are too many negative vibes surrounding this team. Buck had a big year last season and improved his catching as well as his batting average, but he is not worth $6 million a year. His home runs were not a surprise because he had done it before. His batting average will drop next season. He did a good job handling the young pitchers; however, the Jays used Molina as Morrow’s personal catcher. Buck also did a decent job throwing out base runners.

They dumped Uggla’s $10 million so they could pay John Buck $6 million? That doesn’t really make a lot of sense.

As badly as I’d like to see these moves work out is as sure as I am that they’re gonna blow up in the Feesh’s trout mask replicas. Murphy’s Law – which is merely the second law of thermodynamics as it reads out in terms of human destiny – is as inescapable as…well…as entropy, especially at malevolently capacious Joeprodolsharklife Stadium. The utter lack of human body heat militates against the formation of uplift and outflow thermal currents. About the only way Buck pans out for the Feesh over the next three seasons is if MLB loses a major legal challenge before the Supreme Court and halts drug testing.
