The Phillies only wanted Domonic Brown to play for one month in the Dominican Winter League. Since he was on the Phillies postseason roster, the winter league had already begun before the Phillies season was over. Domonic only had 15 at bats from September 1 through October 23, a period of 53 days. Before he could begin to contribute to his Dominican team he had to take some time to get himself back into everyday playing shape. He started his first game on November 21st and hit third in the order. I would expect him to start playing on a regular basis and be back home before Christmas.

I’m a Philadelphia fan and I’d rather see him on the bench. Let him learn at the real level not some silly winter league.

If a guy was better than Dom Brown, He’d be signed by a major league team, playing in the minors or maybe even the majors, because this kid’s good. This is some d-bag flexing his authority muscle.

The winter leagues are not the same as the Arizona Fall League. The AFL cares about helping team’s develop their young players. The winter leagues care only about winning. They don’t care if the Phillies want this guy to get playing time, if they think somebody at his position is better than him then they’ll play the other guy.
