That’s pretty much the ceiling with Burrell. He will drive Giants fans nuts. He goes for long stretches of feast or famine, then don’t expect much in game winning situations either. And oh yeah, He’s not really any good at running down balls in the OF either. Yet he’s still a nice enough guy for people to give him slack there. It’s a shame he’s a big guy or we could call him “scrappy”. Maybe he’s a gamer? naa too slow.

I’m good with this. He’ll undoubtedly be a bench/spot-start/pinch-hit guy with DeRosa coming back to play LF, and he’s still capable of running into one, especially in clutch situations. And he’s clubhouse gold. Just having The Machine and RallyThong back together in the clubhouse is worth the $2-3 mill they’re likely paying him.

I don’t know what the Giants are thinking. Talk about a guy who can’t hit his ass with both hands Burrell is the man. I would have thought long and hard before I brought this guy back.
