I believe you are underrating him as much as others underrate Daniels. Like JD said, it’s an organizational award, and NR heads the org. I do believe that one of NR’s qualities is that he lets his people do their jobs. I wish another Arlington team owner would take notes.

It was all Daniels (with his partners in Thad Levine and Daniels’ college roommate, AJ Preller).

Feliz, Andrus, Hamilton, and Cruz were from Daniels moves before Ryan even showed up. Young, Kinsler, Wilson and Francisco were in the organization before both. Smoak, who produced Lee, was a Daniels draft pick.

Ryan’s importance has been extremely overrated.

I’m not sure how the voters approach this award. It’s called Executive of the Year, but the moves that got the Rangers to the WS started several years ago. And, before anyone jumps in here and says that Ryan is pulling all the strings and that JD was inept before his arrival, remember that the Teixeira trade, the Gagne for Murphy trade, and the Volquez for Hamilton trade were all done before Ryan was hired as president. Ryan in the front office is a great thing for the Rangers, but JD is right up there with him.
