Great post, makes all the sense in the world. Speaking of Joba, the Yankees need to find a trading partner for him, they’ve carried him long enough.

Excellent…Truth be known…Momtero could really use a full sason in triple a and the bonus is you keep him away from Posada teaching him any of his so called catching skills.
We don’t need another Joba flameout or using Montero based on need. The position is hard enough as it is.

My guess if the Yankees do sign him. Montero gets brought along slowly this coming season. Martin gets most of the starts, Posada spells him this season. Montero will get a fair amount of playing time when the rosters expand in September. Posada’s gone after the 2011 season. Then the catching position becomes a lot more clear. Montero will probably be catching the majority of time in 2012 and Martin primarily backup. Just my thoughts on the situation. Plus like this the Yankees save all of Posada’s salary come 2012.

this is news to me regarding making martin a starter, i like martin a lot and i think he can be a valuable guy on the yankees, however i think letting him start the whole season while montero wastes away in AAA seems foolish, unless he’s really not ready.
